Rosewood Diesel Injector Sleeve Removal/Install Tool, Ford (1994-03) 7.3L Power Stroke
ISR73
Tool kit to remove and install injector sleeves/cups without pulling engine heads for the 7.3L Power Stroke and Navistar T444E engines. These Sleeve Tools are 100% Made in the USA using USA materials!
The 7.3L Power Stroke injectors sit in a brass sleeve that separates the injector, and fuel, from the engine's coolant. These brass sleeves weaken and fatigue from age and tend to split and fail. A common symptom is finding fuel in your cooling system. This happens because the fuel system typically operates at around 60 psi of pressure, whereas the coolant system operates at a much lower pressure so the fuel gets pumped into the coolant when the sleeve fails and cracks.
We offer these custom made tools to simplify the changing of the sleeves. By design, the tools are shorter than an injector so you can change the sleeves with the heads on the motor and the motor still in the truck since there is no slide hammer required like with some other sleeve tools. These tools are Black Oxide Solid Steel for long life. You can replace your sleeves as preventative maintenance now, or replace them later once you detect signs of failure.
Below in the documents tab are some basic instructions on how to use the tool.

After watching several videos on the subject of cup removal I noticed that in most instances the operator of the tool had to force down on the tool to get it to bite. However to my surprise this was not the case for me, dropped it in started to screw in with out having to force it down. Worked extremely well. Maybe the tools their are using have worn out, not sure. One word of caution, take your time do not get complacent. On one cylinder for some reason the centering part of the tool did not seat well, and the tool stopped after only about a turn because of not being straight in the hole. I was able to back out and restart. Moral of the story take you time, you only get to cut the treads once. After that game over. But the tool is worth the cost.

This tool is a must. Worked perfectly. Did not have to force it, like some of the videos show. It cut the thread easily without much effort. Word of caution, take your time. On one hole I got complacent and in a hurry. The centering disk did not seat completely and after one turn cutting stopped. Was able to back out reset and restart the cut. Also lubricate the cutting portion as well as the threads of the tool. Great tool.
