Revolution Gear & Axle Ring & Pinion Set for GM 8.5" & 8.6" 10-Bolt (4.56 Ratio, Face Hobbed)

This Revolution Gear and Axle ring and pinion set is a 4.56 ratio gear for the GM 8.5 inch and 8.6 inch 10-bolt rear axle, used under many half-ton Chevy and GMC trucks and SUVs. It is a common re-gear for towing and larger tires.

The gears use a 2-Cut face hobbed process and lapping, the same method as OE, for quiet and durable operation. The set has a 30-spline pinion, an 8.5 inch ring gear, standard rotation and the factory 10 x 7/16 inch bolt pattern, with a low 2.56/2.73 carrier break that suits the standard carrier.

A 4.56 ratio gives noticeably stronger low-end and crawl for GM half-tons stepping up to 33-inch and larger tires, while remaining a reasonable highway gear for a worked truck.

This is a gear set only. It does not include bearings, an install kit or a limited slip/locker. Plan on the matching Revolution GM 10-bolt master install kit and have an experienced installer set pinion depth, backlash and preload to spec.

For a GM 8.5 or 8.6 10-bolt that needs deeper gears for tires or towing, a 4.56 face hobbed set is a quiet, OE-quality choice.
