Description
The SBI 121-1105A valve keeper is built for 2003–2010 Ford 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke engines and is designed to work with OEM-style and SBI retainers and valves. Each keeper (lock) secures the intake or exhaust valve in the retainer so the spring can hold the valve in place through millions of cycles in a high-heat diesel environment.
Factory keepers on these engines can wear in the lock area or deform slightly from years of high spring loads, especially on tuned engines or trucks that have seen extensive towing and work. Replacing them with new, precisely machined SBI keepers during a valve, spring, or retainer upgrade helps ensure the valve stem is properly gripped, reducing the risk of valve movement or dropped valves in daily driven work trucks and heavy towing applications.
SBI manufactures these keepers from hardened steel with the correct angle and groove geometry to match 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke valve stems, and they integrate cleanly with both stock and SBI performance retainers and valves.
