AVP Injection Pump Driver with Relocation Kit, Chevy/GMC (1994-00) 6.5L Diesel, PMD, Resistor, Cooler, & 6' Harness
PMDRK65
Complete package with everything need to install. Fits all GM, Chevrolet, and Hummers with the 6.5L Turbo Diesel engine 1994 thru 2000. The PMD has a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.
-This is the new American Made PMD, improved for heat and vibration resistance.
-New #9 Resister
-The new 6' extension harness (will plug into your current pump harness)
-New heavy duty PMD heat sink (designed to dissipate heat away from PMD).
Everything is included and ready to install. Just mount to the inside of the front bumper, in front of the radiator, or behind the front grille.
If your 6.5L diesel with the DS4 electronic injection pump is showing symptoms of stalling, hard starting, and hesitation, you don't necessarily need to replace the injection pump. The PMD (Pump Mounted Driver) is prone to failure from constant heating and cooling when mounted inside the engine compartment and needs to be moved out in order to assure maximum performance and long service life.

Description
GM Technical Service Bulletin #77-63-06Ab states that: "stalling, hard starting, and hesitation are symptoms of a failing PMD (Pump Mounted Driver)(also referred to as the "Fuel Solenoid Driver") module." These symptoms usually (but not always) set a code 35 or 36 in the 1994 - 1995 models, or a code 1216 in the 1996 - up models. Often when this problem is diagnosed at a dealership or repair shop, the customer is told that the injection pump needs to be replaced. But in most cases, the PMD module can simply be replaced for a fraction of the price.

Comments:
I have already purchased one of these last year for a truck I had just got. The PMD was gone, and the owner had already replaced the Injection pump at least 4 times on this 1995 truck. It finally had a head gasket let go and he unloaded the truck on me. (for FREE!) A few months later and a new set of head gaskets, head bolts, and this relocation kit, and this truck now runs like a dream. I mounted in on the back side of the front bumper and it has worked flawlessly! The hardest part of the job was getting the old wires disconnected from the original pump mounted driver, a screw driver and a little finesse made this an easy job that took about 10 to 15 minutes. Once I got the truck engine put back together this has been a very solid truck. I'm about to order my second one as the 95 6.5 TD suburban I got for the wife is in need of one. It sputtered, tripped, gasped, and finally died on her the other day and I took mine off the truck and put it on hers, BAMMO! Runs like a champ, SO now I need another one for my truck. The good news is, they are supposed to last along time, and the wires are all ready to go on my truck so it will be plug, mount and drive. Looks like the Injection pump in her burb has been replaced within the last couple years too, so it is clean and most likely has about 300k left in it. I went with this one initially because it has the actual driver made in USA, I do NOT trust CHINA to build ANYTHING! I cringe when I have to buy other things made there, what is wrong with our manufacturers?!
