XDP Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor for Ford (2008-10) 6.4L Power Stroke (Pre & Post DOC/Post DPF)

The XDP Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor is an OE-style replacement for the failed exhaust temperature sensors on 2008-2010 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 with the 6.4L Power Stroke.

One part number covers three locations in the 6.4L exhaust. Before the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), it sits in the bung on the pipe closest to the downpipe flange, toward the front of the truck. After the DOC, it goes in the bung on the larger housing just ahead of the DPF mounting flange. After the diesel particulate filter (DPF), it threads into the bung on the pipe behind the DPF, next to the exhaust hanger. It replaces OE numbers 8C3Z12B591D, 8C3Z5J213C, 8C3Z5J213D and 7C3Z12B591B.

EGT sensors are critical to how the 6.4L runs its emissions and regeneration strategy, and they take a beating from heat. A failed sensor will set codes and can mess with regen. If you are keeping a 6.4L on the road for towing or work, these are worth replacing as soon as one acts up.

Sold individually. Pull codes or check live data to identify the failed position before ordering. Soak the old sensor with penetrating oil before removal, since heat cycles can seize it in the bung. This sensor does not fit the passenger side up-pipe; that position uses XD1031.
