Description
This is the injector fuel line valve cover seal for the 2001–2004 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7. It seals the point where the injector fuel line enters the valve cover, a known service area on the LB7.
It replaces GM part 97225457 and fits the factory location exactly. The seal is sold individually, so order the number of seals your repair calls for. It carries a 1-year limited warranty.
The LB7 is notorious for injectors that live under the valve covers, so any time you’re in there for injector work you want fresh seals going back together. A hardened or torn seal lets oil weep and can disguise where a leak is really coming from.
Install with clean, dry surfaces and torque the valve cover fasteners to spec. Reusing an old seal is a false economy on a job this involved – new seals are cheap insurance against a comeback.
