Description

The BTR Injection Pump Driver with Relocation Kit is the ultimate solution for the notorious PMD (Pump Mounted Driver) failures on 1994–2000 Chevy and GMC 6.5L Turbo Diesel engines. The factory PMD is mounted directly to the injection pump, where it is exposed to extreme heat and vibration—leading to frequent stalling, hard starting, hesitation, and costly repairs.

This complete kit includes a new, improved PMD module, a #9 performance resistor, a heavy-duty aluminum heat sink cooler, a 6-foot extension harness, and all necessary mounting hardware. By relocating the PMD to a cooler, more accessible location—such as the front bumper, radiator support, or behind the grille—you dramatically reduce heat-related failures and make future service much easier.

The included #9 resistor increases maximum fuel delivery, a popular upgrade for performance and reliability. The plug-and-play design means no cutting or splicing—simply connect the extension harness to your existing pump harness and PMD, mount the cooler, and secure the hardware.

This kit addresses the common PMD failure detailed in GM Technical Service Bulletin #77-63-06A, which recommends replacing or relocating the Fuel Solenoid Driver to improve reliability.

Kit Includes:
New PMD module, #9 resistor, heavy-duty heat sink cooler, 6' extension harness, mounting hardware

Fitment:
1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 Chevy and GMC 6.5L Turbo Diesel (C/K Series trucks, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Hummer H1, and compatible models)

Comments:
I have already purchased one of these last year for a truck I had just got. The PMD was gone, and the owner had already replaced the Injection pump at least 4 times on this 1995 truck. It finally had a head gasket let go and he unloaded the truck on me. (for FREE!) A few months later and a new set of head gaskets, head bolts, and this relocation kit, and this truck now runs like a dream. I mounted in on the back side of the front bumper and it has worked flawlessly! The hardest part of the job was getting the old wires disconnected from the original pump mounted driver, a screw driver and a little finesse made this an easy job that took about 10 to 15 minutes. Once I got the truck engine put back together this has been a very solid truck. I'm about to order my second one as the 95 6.5 TD suburban I got for the wife is in need of one. It sputtered, tripped, gasped, and finally died on her the other day and I took mine off the truck and put it on hers, BAMMO! Runs like a champ, SO now I need another one for my truck. The good news is, they are supposed to last along time, and the wires are all ready to go on my truck so it will be plug, mount and drive. Looks like the Injection pump in her burb has been replaced within the last couple years too, so it is clean and most likely has about 300k left in it. I went with this one initially because it has the actual driver made in USA, I do NOT trust CHINA to build ANYTHING! I cringe when I have to buy other things made there, what is wrong with our manufacturers?!
