The gears are made from heat-treated 8620 steel, use a 28-spline pinion and a 9.0" ring gear, run standard rotation, and have a 7/16" ring gear bolt thread. This gear family has no carrier break, so a 3.50 set works without changing carriers.

A 3.50 ratio is a mild, highway-friendly gear – a good fit for cruisers, lighter builds, and rigs that spend a lot of time at speed and don't need a deep numerical ratio. It keeps engine RPM reasonable on the freeway while still pulling cleanly.
