This Revolution Gear & Axle ring and pinion set fits the Toyota 8.0" V6 rear axle on 2005-23 Tacoma, 2007-14 FJ Cruiser, and 2003-09 Lexus GX470, cut in a deep 5.29 ratio with a 29-spline pinion. It's one of the most popular gearsets for Toyota mid-size trucks and SUVs being built for bigger tires.

The gears are made from heat-treated 8620 steel, use a 29-spline pinion, an 8.0" ring gear, and a 10mm ring gear bolt thread, and run standard rotation. This gear family has no carrier break, so you don't need a different carrier when going to a deep ratio like 5.29.

A 5.29 ratio is aimed at heavily built Tacomas and FJ Cruisers running tall tires, where you need a numerically deep gear to recover acceleration, crawl ratio, and drivability lost to the larger rubber. It's a strong choice for overland and trail rigs that have grown well past stock tire size.
