The Discovery Series rear axle kit is a 4340 chromoly axle shaft upgrade for 2007-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Non-Rubicon Sport and Sahara models with the rear Dana 44 and 30-spline axles. It replaces the factory shafts with stronger chromoly to handle big tires and aggressive wheeling.

The shafts cover 5x5 and 5x5.5 bolt patterns and ship with bearings, seals and retainers already pressed on so the kit is ready to bolt in. Ten wheel studs are included but shipped uninstalled for safer transport; install them with red Loctite and torque to 90 ft-lbs.

This is the right buy for JK Sport and Sahara owners who have added tire size and lift and want to stop worrying about snapping a stock 30-spline shaft on the trail. It is also a straightforward fix for an already broken or twisted factory axle.

This is an axle shaft kit only. It does not include ring and pinion gears, a carrier or a locker, and it reuses your existing differential. If you want selectable or automatic traction, add a locker or upgraded carrier at the same time.

Discovery Series chromoly axles are backed by a 10-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and axle breakage, bent axles and twisted splines, which makes this a strong long-term upgrade over the factory shafts. Normal wear items such as bearings and seals are not covered.
