Description

PPE’s High Yield head stud kit is a foundation upgrade for the 1989–1998 Dodge/Ram 5.9L Cummins 12-valve. It replaces the factory head bolts with high-strength studs that clamp the cylinder head far more firmly.

The High Yield studs deliver higher clamping force than the original bolts, which is what keeps the head gasket sealed once cylinder pressure climbs. Studs also torque more consistently and evenly than bolts that have already been stretched once.

This is the part to install before, or alongside, adding boost, more fuel, or heavy towing duty. On a 12V that is being pushed past stock power, factory bolts are a common point of failure and studs are the standard fix.

Fit is engine-specific to the 5.9L 12V head. Proper cleaning, thread prep, and torque procedure are essential to get the full clamping benefit – follow a correct install sequence. Covered by PPE’s 1-year limited warranty.
