Revolution Gear & Axle Ring & Pinion Set for Jeep (2007-18) Wrangler JK Rubicon, Dana 44 Reverse Front Axle (4.88 Ratio, Thick)

This is a front ring and pinion set from Revolution Gear & Axle for the reverse-rotation Dana 44 front axle on the 2007–18 Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon. It is a 4.88-ratio, thick-cut set intended to match a Rubicon rear re-gear.

The set runs a 24-spline pinion on the 8.5-inch Dana 44 ring gear, with 10 x 7/16" and 1/2" ring gear bolts and a 10-bolt cover, and is built on the 3.73-and-down carrier. The thick-cut design adds tooth contact and strength, and the gears are cut from 8620 steel and heat treated to OE-level specs.

Rubicon owners running larger tires choose 4.88 for strong low-end torque and trail crawling. Because front and rear ratios must match, this set is installed together with a matching 4.88 rear ring and pinion.

This is a gear set only. Bearings, an install kit and any locker are not included and are sold separately; add a Revolution Dana 44 front master install kit (such as 35-2051) for the bearings, crush sleeve, shims, seals and ring gear bolts. Verify your carrier break before ordering.

Gear setup is precise work best left to an experienced installer. The set is covered by Revolution's 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
