The 68RFE has been plagued with a high failure rate that many attribute to the fact the converter in this transmission never goes into a full lockup, which creates excessive heat, and we all know what heat does to a transmission. Interestingly enough, this easy to install bypass valve delete can keep your transmission temperatures in check in certain environments, potentially saving you a heap of money.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
This product will only work on 68RFE and Aisin AS69RC transmission.& nbsp; The AS69RC is found on cab and chassis models, which is different than the ASC69RC, found on the later model High Output Rams. If you are uncertain as to which transmission you have, please reference your build sheet.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Depending on the conditions, a starter can pull up to 500 amps. These levels of amperage stress ALL components in the circuit including cables, terminals, batteries, and more. Problems with these components can be difficult to diagnose as they appear fine at rest and under a light load, but generate high resistance under heavy amperage draws. This results in low voltage to the starter while cranking, causing heavier amperage draw, and increased heat leading to starter failure. Batteries, cables and additional components should be checked and serviced regularly. Voltage measured at the starter during cranking should always be above 9.5V DC. Starter heat shields are not required, but are an excellent idea for heat protection.
