We suggest using a SCT tuner to eliminate the Check Engine Light on some 05-07 models.

In august of 09' Ford Motor Company along with International came to the conclusion that with any sort of EGR cooler failure it is mandatory to replace the oil cooler as well. Soot from the EGR cooler washes into the cooling system and plugs the fine heat exchanger located inside the cooler housing. This causes extreme oil temperatures which in turn can cause injector failure as well as engine block and cylinder head warping. It is also a good rule of thumb to replace the oil cooler during a cylinder head gasket job. Engine casting sand is also known to plug this cooler. See our line of coolant filter systems to prevent cooler failures and insure your new cooler!

Q: If I Install this kit on my vehicle, will it “throw a code” or “CEL” (Check engine light)?
A: It should not cause a check engine light on 2003-04. It may cause a check engine light on 2005-07 however there are a few programmers available that will remove the check engine light.

Q: I have quite a bit of experience working on trucks, and I am planning to install this kit myself. How long will the install take and can you email me the instructions before I purchase the kit?
A: A typical Performance Machine & MFG. Basic EGR delete install takes about 4-6 hours, our Complete kit w/ Up-pipe can take up to an addition 1-2 Hours.

Q: I have a stock 2004 6.0 and I am currently not experiencing any problems with the EGR that I am aware of and I have never checked to see if my EGR valve is clogged. Is there any real benefit to getting this EGR Delete now?
A: If you are not having any problems with your EGR now you do not need to replace it. However, if you want to prevent the chance of EGR going out and want to lower coolant and oil temps, you will want to consider an EGR delete as an option. Also, there will be a slight gain in fuel mileage and horsepower.

Q: My 2006 Super Duty has begun to blow white smoke. I have recently had the head gaskets replaced, could the EGR be going out on my truck? Will this fix the problem, and does the kit include everything I need to install it?
A: Yes, It sounds like you have a bad EGR Cooler. The kit includes everything you need to do the install.

Q: Do I need to remove the intake manifold to install this kit?
A: No, you will not need to remove the intake manifold. This means the oil filter, fuel filter, and all the wires/hoses can be left in place saving hours of install time. Also, the gaskets are reusable and do not need to be replaced.
